Wednesday, March 21, 2018, Kitchener, ON – The St. John's Edge (23-14) conquered the KW Titans (6-30) 96-91 for the first time this season at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. The victory places St. John's .5 games behind the London Lightning for the Central Division title.
Player Performance
St. John's Edge:
Carl English led the Edge with 23 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists in just 21 minutes of floor time, English was ejected early in the third quarter after receiving his second technical foul of the game. Coron Williams stepped up in English's absence by contributing 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Williams dropped 16 of his 20 points in the second half and helped lift the Edge over the Titans late in the game with back-to-back three-pointers.
KW Titans:
The Titans and the floor were led by Justin Hurtt and his double-double of 26 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists. Ed Horton chipped in 21 points for the Titans in their 30th loss of the season.
Inside the Numbers:
St. John's went 36-for-83 (43.4 percent) from field-goal territory while contributing 46 points from the paint.
The Titans went 7-for-27 (25.9 percent) from three-point territory and received 44 points from the paint.
