Sunday, January 21, 2018, Niagara, ON - The St. John's Edge (14-7) ended a grueling five-game road trip with a win over the Niagara River Lions (10-13) 122-104 Sunday afternoon. With the victory the Edge tie the London Lightning for top in the Central division.
Player Performance
St. John's Edge:
Charles Hinkle led the Edge with 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Coron Williams put together another strong game for the Edge by chipping in with 22 points, 1 rebound, and 5 assists. Grandy Glaze did not dress for the Edge after doing down favouring his knee late in the fourth quarter Saturday night versus Windsor.
Niagara River Lions:
The River Lions were led by Guillaume Boucard and his 31 points, 9 rebounds and 1 assist. Jaylon Tate was strong for the River Lions by producing a double-double of 19 points, 2 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Inside the Numbers:
St. John's went 45-for-79 (57 percent) from field-goal territory, the club also scored 60 points off the bench.
The River Lions went 39-for-46 (84.8 percent) from the free-throw line while only getting 22 points contributed from players off the bench.
