Roster Update: Edge Place Olu Ashaolu on IR for Remainder of Finals

 

 St. John’s, NL – The St. John’s Edge announced on Friday morning that Olu Ashaolu has been placed on the Injured Reserve and will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2018-19 season after suffering a knee injury in Game 1 of the NBL Canada Finals on Wednesday night in Moncton, NB. 

During the third quarter, there was accidental contact after a player was fouled and hit the floor, then collided with Ashaolu's right knee. Olu remained down for several minutes before he had to be helped to the locker room by the team trainers. 

He remained out of action for the rest of Game 1 and was re-evaluated over the last 48 hours and it was determined that due to the injury that he would be placed on the IR with the knee injury. 

Ashaolu will remain with the team for the rest of the Finals and will receive treatment and evaluation during that time. The organization wish Olu the best in his recovery and hope to see him back in action in the future.
