St. John’s, NL- Mike Edwards, a 6’9 235lb Forward from Westland, Michigan has signed a 2019-2020 NBLC Player Contract with the St. John’s Edge.  Edwards, will be a rookie after graduating from the University of Georgia this past spring.

Edwards appeared in 111 career games while at Georgia and had career averages of 13.5mpg, 2.6ppg, 2.7rpg while shooting 51.2% from the field.  Edwards helped lead the Bulldogs to 68 victories over his four-year career and two appearances in the NIT Tournament.   

Head Coach Steve Marcus on the signing of Edwards: “Mike is one of the best athletes I have ever seen on a basketball court.  At 6’9 and 235lbs, the way he runs, jumps and moves is unlike anything we have ever had in St. John’s.”

Edwards on signing with the Edge: “I am excited to join the Edge and be able to pursue my dreams of playing pro basketball.  I cannot wait to continue my basketball career and keep developing.  I am truly blessed and can’t wait to get to St. John’s!”
