The St. John's Edge rebounded from Friday's abysmal performance with a better effort Saturday as they squared off with the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans. St. John's saw better contributions from much of the lineup in this one while the Titans proved their peskiness sticking with the Edge all the way.
1st quarter - Much better start for the Edge in this one. But the Titans match them every step of the way and then some. KW were lighting it up and led 31-18 after 1.
2nd quarter - St. John's showed some real rhythm and quality play in this frame as they battled back to take the lead. The Edge received some strong, physical play from Canadian Olu Ashaolu as he chipped in eight of his twenty points on the night. Edge in front 53-48 at the break.
3rd quarter - Once again the Edge get stuck in a rut as no one aside from Ashaolu can find a way to capitalize. That allowed the Titans to claw their way back in front 76-74.
4th quarter - Both teams open things up dramatically as the game turned into a bit of a shootout. St. John's would see Junior Cadougan go off for 14 in the quarter while Coron, don't call me corn, Williams would provide some stellar shooting going 3-3 from beyond the arc as part of his 17-point effort of the bench. Damon Lynn put on a shooting clinic of his own dropping 14 points of his own. Some controversy with 1:32 left to play as the officials call a very questionable foul on Tyrone Watson. Lynn, who threw up a desperation shot on the in bounds to try and beat the shot clock, would make the four free throws as Watson can't believe it and would also pick up a technical foul. That would prove to be the difference and the Titans would take this one 114-108.

+ St. John's were led by Cadougan(25 pts, 8 assts and 3 stls) and Ashaolu(20 pts, 5 rebs and 2 assts)
+ KW were led by Damon Lynn(34 pts, 4 assts and 1 reb) and Ed Horton(22 pts, 2 rebs and 3 assts)
+ The Titans saw more trips to the charity stripe making 27 of 35 in comparison to 19 of 26 for the Edge
+ The Edge had a light night on the glass as they were outrebounded by the Titans 44-38.
The Edge(11-9) remain 2nd in the Atlantic Division however the surging Halifax Hurricanes are closing in. St. John's has the next four nights off before a rematch against the Titans back in Kitchener-Waterloo.
