Edge Sign Power Forward, Ryan Reid

Wednesday, January 14th, 2018, St. John’s, NL - The St. John’s Edge of the National Basketball League of Canada are pleased to announce the successful signing of Ryan Reid.

Ryan Reid, a native of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, played four years at Florida State and led the Seminoles to 88 victories over that span, becoming the winningest player in Florida State history upon graduation.  He also became one of only three players in FSU history to make the postseason in all four of his collegiate seasons.  He finished his FSU career with averages of 5.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in over 120 games, going 88-34 during his career.  

Reid, 6-foot-9, 235 pounds, was drafted 57th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers, after the draft his draft rights were traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In the 2010 NBA Summer League, Reid averaged 8.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in only 16 minutes per game for the Thunder. During the 2010-2011 season, Reid played for the Thunders NBA D-League affiliate, the Tulsa 66ers.  In 48 games with the 66ers, Reid averaged 8.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 50.5% from the field.

During the 2011-2012 season, Reid once again played for the 66ers but was called up to the Oklahoma City Thunder on December 13th and stayed with the Thunder until January 16th, 2012.

Ryan Reid will be in the lineup Thursday evening versus the London Lightning.
