Edge downgrade the Hurricanes, 108-97

Wednesday, March 7, 2018, St. John's, NL – The St. John's Edge (21-12) bounce back with a dominant 108-97 performance Wednesday night versus the League-leading Halifax Hurricanes (22-11). Xavier Ford, who was active late this afternoon, put on a performance for the home town crowd with a solid offensive and defensive effort.

Player Performance 

St. John's Edge:

Newcomer Xavier Ford led the Edge with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Ryan Reid, who earned his second straight start put together 22 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. The Edge battled to earn the midweek split versus the Hurricanes without having Carl English on the floor as he sat out his second straight game after putting together a memorable 58-point performance on Saturday night.

Halifax Hurricanes:

The Hurricanes and the floor were led by Antoine Mason his 25 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Renaldo Dixon added 15 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Billy White also put forth 15 points and 6 rebounds in the loss.

Inside the Numbers: 

St. John's went 41-for-77 (53.2 percent) from field-goal territory while making 8-of-22 (36.4 percent) of their three-point shots.

The Hurricanes went 35-for-81 (43.2 percent) from field-goal territory while getting 52 points from the paint.
