Edge Struck by Lightning

Thursday, February 15, 2018, London, ON - The St. John's Edge (16-10) dropped the first game of a four-game road swing to the London Lightning (17-8) 116-103 Thursday evening. With the victory the London Lightning maintain the top spot in the Central division.

Player Performance 

St. John's Edge:

Carl English led the Edge with 29 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. Charles Hinkle put together a strong game first quarter for the Edge by dropping 13 points, Hinkle finished with 18 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Newcomer Ryan Reid put forth a strong effort in his first game in the blue and yellow by putting up 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists before fouling out midway through the fourth quarter.  

London Lightning:

The Lightning were led by Kyle Johnson and his 25 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists after coming off the bench. Ryan Anderson and Garrett Williamson put up 17 points to push the Lightning over the top.

Inside the Numbers: 

St. John's went 8-for-29 (27.6 percent) from three-point territory, while hitting 27-35 (77.1 percent) of their free throws.

The Lightning went 10-for-34 (29.4 percent) from three-point territory, while getting 55 points contributed from players off the bench.
