Edge halt the Express, 111-100

The St. John's Edge (16-9) battled back from an early deficit against the Windsor Express (11-13) to win 111-100 Wednesday night at Mile One Centre.

Windsor built themselves a nine-point lead midway through the first quarter; however the Edge outscored the Express 28-19 in the second to take a seven-point lead into the half. St. John's maintained the lead thanks to key shots by Carl English and Charles Hinkle late in the contest en route to the win.

St. John's Edge:

Carl English-the Edge's player of the game, led the way for St. John's with a game-high 28 points, adding three rebounds and five assists. Grandy Glaze made 17 points, with four rebounds. Offensively, Alex Johnson, Desmond Lee and Ransford Brempong each chipped in two assists.

Windsor Express:

Chad Frazier led the Express with 25 points, adding four rebounds and four assists. Omar Strong added 20 points for Windsor accompanied by one rebound.

Inside the Numbers 

St. John's went 42-for-78 (53 percent) from the field-goal line, the club also picked up 40 rebounds. The Express went 11-for-28 (39 percent) from the three-point line and scored 52 points inside the paint.
