Series Preview | Edge Vs Express

The St. John's Edge are back in action Tuesday and Wednesday night looking to take sole possession of first in the league as they welcome the Windsor Express to Mile One Centre.

St. John's split a two-game series over the weekend with the Moncton Magic in a pair of spirited games. Friday night the Edge dropped the series opener to the Magic 116-98 before bouncing back Saturday evening with a 104-100 victory.

The Windsor Express meanwhile enter the contest having dropped their latest contest on Friday night against the Niagara River Lions. The Express had been tied with the River Lions at 95 after four quarters before dropping a 102-99 score in overtime.

 

Players to Watch:

St. John's

Carl EnglishCarl English enters Tuesday's contest second in the league in points per game with 23.4. The Newfoundland native scored 25 points in his latest contest against the Magic.

Charles HinkleCharles Hinkle finds himself third in the league in points per games with 22.2. Hinkle is the first St. John's Edge player to score 500 points in team history as he scored 510 this season in 23 games.

 

Windsor Express

Logan Stutz – Through 22 games this season, Logan Stutz ranks 7th in the league in points and points per game with 433/19.7. Stutz put up 17 points on Friday against the River Lions.

Maurice Jones – The Windsor point guard is second in the league with 38.3 minutes per game.  In 22 games he has 139 assists, good for third in the league and is fourth in the league with 43 steals.

 

Last game

Coron Williams poured in a game-high 29 points to lead the St. John's Edge past the Windsor Express 111-89 on the road. St. John's led 71-62 after three quarters before pouring in 40 points in the finale frame. Charles Hinkle went 5-for-9 from the 3-point line.
