Edge Zap the Lightning

The St. John's Edge (7-2) took control of the game early in the first quarter, not looking back as the team zapped the London Lightning (1-4) 136-117 Wednesday night at Mile One Centre. The Edge led the Lightning by 16 at halftime and were ahead by as many as 27 points in the fourth quarter.

Carl English poured in a team-leading 25 points, with six rebounds and five assists. Rashaun Brodus put up 22 points and four assists, Jarion Henry picked up 10 rebounds.

Royce White scored a game-high 34 points for the Lightning, with eight rebounds and six assists. Garrett Williamson added 27 points for London accompanied by six assists.

Successful First Homestand 

With the victory over the Lightning on Wednesday night, the St. John's Edge swept their inaugural four-game homestand. The victory on Wednesday represented the most points scored by the Edge in a game this season (136 points) and was also the team's largest win of the season (19 points).

Inside the Numbers 

St. John's went 35-for-46 (76 percent) from the free throw line and scored 53 points off the bench. The Edge trailed the Lightning only once in the game, a two-point deficit in the opening minute of the game. The Lightning scored 62 points inside the paint.

Up Next 

The St. John's Edge head out on the road where they will play four-games prior to the Christmas break-including two against the Lightning in London. The team returns home January 9th when they open up a 4-game homestand versus the Windsor Express. All games will be streamed live on www.sjedge.ca.
