Friday, December 1, 2017, St. John's, NL– The Edge (4-2) overcame a strong fourth quarter push by the Niagara River Lions (3-1) to win, 105-103, on Home Court at Mile One Centre. Rashaun Broadus scored the winning basket off of a Niagara River Lions turnover in the final seconds of the game in front of a sellout crowd during the teams Home Opener.  

Carl English played his first professional game on home soil and finished with a team-leading 22 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Charles Hinkle and Grandy Glaze each contributed 17 points to the win with Glaze finishing with 8 rebounds.

Samuel Muldrow lead the Niagara River Lions with 19 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks in a losing effort, while Marvell Waithe chipped in with 17 points.

 Inside the Numbers

The River Lions went 21 for 2* from the free throw line (72.4 percent). Guillaume Boucard lead the River Lions going 6-for-6 from the line.

The Edge was outscored 29-18 the fourth quarter.
