Camera Operator

 

The Camera Operator will work within the Game Presentation department to implement the vision of the St. John's Edge Edge and Newfoundland Growlers through video content. This individual will work directly with Game Presentation to provide a full-range of video, audio and editing support from concept to post-production.

Operators can expect to gain hands on experience with video camcorders and DSLR cameras during games and player appearances, while also continuing to improve video editing skills. Please note that this position will be in St. John’s.

 

The Camera Operator will have the following responsibilities:

 

• Primary Duties

o Set up and tear down video equipment as needed

o Shoot St. John’s Edge & Newfoundland Growlers games for the purpose of Game Operations or Highlights under the direction of the show producer / director

 

• Secondary

o Shoot video content in support of branding, sales, marketing and promotions

o Edit digital video from raw files to finished work using Adobe Premiere

o Capture b-roll and interviews at Edge & Growlers events to produce feature stories

o Distribute video via Internet through Edge & Growlers website and social media outlets

o Organize and archive video assets

  

Criteria & Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of digital video cameras and audio equipment with minimal supervision

• Experienced with video editing programs (i.e. Premiere, Avid, Final Cut)

• Outgoing and enthusiastic, not afraid to approach the public

• Excellent organizational skills

• Reliable transportation

• Knowledge of Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator a plus

• Experience with DSLR cameras a plus

• Experience and interest in sports a plus.

 

Candidates should be able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment with high attention to detail and quality. Candidates should have high energy, a positive attitude and be committed to teamwork. This is a part-time paid position. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
