Thursday, January 18th, 2018, St. John’s, NL - The St. John’s Edge of the National Basketball League of Canada are pleased to announce that they have acquired Russell Byrd from the KW Titans for a Conditional First Round Draft-Pick in the 2018-19 NBL Canada Draft. Earlier in the day the Edge completed a deal that sent Jarion Henry to the Island Storm in exchange for their First-Round Pick in the 2018-19 NBL Canada Draft.
Russell Byrd, a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana is averaging 12.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 15 game this season with the KW Titans.
Byrd spent the 2016-17 season with the Moncton Magic where he averaged 14.48 points, 4.52 rebounds and 2.38 assists per game.
Byrd will be in the lineup Friday night as the Edge take on the Niagara River lions.
